Change is in the Air

As most of you reading this post will already know I have resigned as COO of Point2 Realty. Since the inception of Point2Agent I have lived and breathed the product, dreamed about the strategy and direction and worked unceasingly towards our goals.  I was not alone on this path.  In fact, I had the fortune of traveling with some of the best and brightest.  Some of those people remain at Point2 and some have left. I am sure that Point2 will continue to be a great product developed by a company of great people.  Much of the near term vision and planning is in place and I wish the best to all the remaining staff. There have been a lot of rumors and speculation about the resignations, particularly the who and why. You can read the who here: Point2 Announced Executive Resignations  .  I think I can speak for the bulk group when I say that the why is now unimportant.  What is important is that all our great customers and friends in the industry can expect, at the very least, that Point2 will remain reliably and dependably what it is; a leader in technology and innovation.  I can’t say for sure what the future holds for those of us that resigned.  I can say there are many wonderful opportunities.  I can say that I personally consider the group of individuals who resigned a “Dream Team”.  I can tell you that I would love to continue working with these guys.  I can also say that we have a lot of great ideas and opportunities. I can tell you that many of these are in the real estate industry (but not all J ).   I just can’t tell you anything specific – yet. Stay tuned.

  1. No comments? Really? Well good luck Brendan. I am sure we would all like to know what lead to all this, but it looks like we’ll have to wait for that. Maybe forever.

Of course the direction of the company is very important to the users and that you didn’t like the direction (I am sure I read that somewhere vaguely reliable) concerns us the users. I guess you can’t, or won’t say anymore, and I respect that.

    Best of luck, Matt

    “Stay tuned.”

Oh we will, bank on it.

    Best of luck Brendan!

I certainly wish you and your Dream Team the best.

Respectfully, as a P2 customer, and fan of your leadership and vision as well, I do think the “WHY” matters and wish you would say more.

This could surely be done without upsetting any more “apple carts” than are already running on “tilt”

Web 2.0 is here, and it means no special mercy for BigWigs when it comes to “spin” ; )

Please help us understand what is going on and what is coming next!

  4. Brendan – I’m certain that you and all of your “dream team” will land on your feet and continue to bring cutting edge technology to whatever industry(s) you decide to tackle.

    All the best –

  5. We’ll miss you Brendan! Under your direction Point2 made some great moves in this industry, such as the NLS and listing syndication. I do wish all of you the best, and I’m sure whatever you work on next will be a success. Let us know if you’re ever in Edmonton.

P2 did some great things with you there. It will be interesting to see where you end up as I have a feeling we’ll hear a lot of good things about that place.

My hardwood floor in the lnraduy room is covered with tar paper. We took up the tiles to find it. Anyway, by a fluke, the plumber accidentally knocked the drain pipe for the washer out of the wall when he did some work, thereby flooding the lnraduy room. We discovered it later that night. Anyway, since it sat there all day, it loosened the paper and it came right up. Maybe you need to soak it a little? You also may be able to rent a floor sander and sand it up.

  8. Brendan,

I wish you the best of luck. I am looking forward to seeing how your group and p2a both come out of this.

P2 has been doing some great things with you there. P2 has been ahead of the pack, I hope it stays there.

I agree, I would like to know why the departure.

  10. Good luck to you in the future, Brendan. I’m sure both you and P2A will both come out on top.

Your blog post was very well written and very respectful of both sides. There are always 2 sides to every story and in a case like this, probably both are “correct” in their own opinions. Better to agree to disagree.

As you can imagine, we are all curious as to where you “land”. Best of luck in your new ventures…we look forward to hearing something soon! Happy New Year!

  14. Hi Brendan, I wanted to drop you a quick note to say thankyou. What you have done for the evolution of real estate market place online in the past few years has been amazing. Every other third party provider out there like my company has had to step up and to be accountable to their clients as they expect and now deserve so much more and alot of this is due to you pushing the envelope to provide your clients at Point2 with the tools they need to give their listings extreme exposure and lead management systems to increase their business.

Let me know if I can ever enjoy the opportunity of working with you in the furture, my door is always open.

Happy New Year to you and your family.
