Zillow? Hmmmmm. The jury is still out in my mind. I agree with most of what Jay said. I have a problem with the fact that their property values are so way off the mark in our market area. Why do I want to feature properties on pages where the host of the web site is calculating values that are often 50% or more HIGHER than a realistic list and sale price?

The Zestimates are just way off the mark here. More exposure is good, but more confusion in the minds of consumers is NOT good.

BTW … you folks have a heck of a product here … I’m working with a new site and I am WILDLY impressed with the whole package. The functionality is DYNAMITE. It is truly “lust at first sight”

I understand completely Brendan, I just have to give you guys a hard time!

The new Point 2 blogging product is *outstanding*. Based on everything else P2 does, I’m sure it will only get better. I even blogged about it on my “non-Point 2″ blog (also running on WordPress). It’s one of my most viewed and commented posts.

Thanks for the comments in insight Jay. On the blogging front I was wondering when someone would ask me that.  Back when we didn’t have a blog product a number of us went out and fired up blogs on different platforms. I choose to be “the WordPress guy” in part because Robert Scoble was using it. I fully intend to switch everything over our product, and I guess there is no time like the present. However, as you can see, I am a sporadic blogger at best. Hopefully I will find make more time in the new year.

Sure. Why not? The more exposure the better. The Zillow interface seems easy to use, but if all I have to do is check a box on my P2 syndication page, then all the better.

Many agents seem to fear Zillow, which I’ve never understood. Are Zestimates 100% accurate? Of course not. Never have been, never will be. But Zillow contains a *wealth* of data, and the folks at Zillow are marketing wizards. Zillow is poised to become the “Google of real estate” (if Google doesn’t buy them out first….). So of course I want my listings on Zillow.

There’s already a little (very little) buzz on the P2 user forum about Zillow having “listings.” Many agents will be against it. So let those agents opt-out. This agent would opt-in in a heartbeat, as should any other that truly wants to get their listings maximum exposure.

Now I have a question for you Brendan: Why is this blog on wordpress.com instead of running on the Point 2 Blogging platform?
